Shia LaBeouf Hunts Robert Redford
Shia LaBeouf to star in upcoming film with Robert Redford
It has been announced that LaBeouf and Redford will join forces for the upcoming project, The Company You Keep. The political thriller based on a Neil Gordon novel, follows a quondam Weather Underground militant (Redford) who is ousted from blissful hiding after 30 years, by an ambitious, zealous reporter (LaBeouf) striving to leave his mark. Redford will also direct the production.
“This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country’s ideals against their government. It is absolutely amazing to have Shia LaBeouf, arguably the brightest young star in Hollywood today paired with the global icon Robert Redford,” said Nicolas Chartier of Voltage Pictures, that is producing the feature.
Redford will direct the production, and also has a producer credit along with Chartier and Bill Holderman. Lem Dobbs, who penned The Limey and Dark City, wrote the script.
The Company You Keep will commence shooting in Vancouver in September.
