The nominations for the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced early December 15th. Although The Artist, The Descendants, and The Help led the pack, we were quite happy to hear of nominations for some of our favourites.

Seth Rogen’s 50/50 is nominated for Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, and co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt nabbed a nomination for Best Actor, Comedy or Musical.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogen was sleeping while the nominations were announced. He didn’t wake up to watch the announcements because he didn’t expect to be included.

“My home phone rang, which it never does. I was scared at first,” a laughing Rogen told The Hollywood Reporter.

“The fact that any of us are getting nominated for anything is ridiculous, but it’s really exciting,” Rogen explained in regards to the 50/50 nominations and good friend Jonah Hill’s nom for Moneyball.

Some other notable Jewish-helmed films nominated include Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin, Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris, Harvey Weinstein’s My Week With Marilyn, and Judd Apatow’s Bridesmaids.
