Heavy metal duo Tenacious D, featuring actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, have returned after a 6 year hiatus from music with the upcoming album, ‘Rize of the Fenix’.

To promote the May 15th release of the album, Tenacious D shot a 6-minute promo clip featuring cameos from famous friends such as Jimmy Kimmel, Tim Robbins, Dave Grohl, Extra’s Maria Menounos, and Val Kilmer.

The video opens with Menounos introducing a segment on Extra, "Some called them kings, others called them gods, but one thing everyone agreed on was that Tenacious D was more talented than the Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin combined, but when their film 'Pick of Destiny' failed to perform at the box office, these two king-gods tasted mortality."

The video gets more ridiculous as it goes on depicting Gass’ escape from a mental institution, the bands fictional and overdramatic break-up, and the two-week hug that stopped all the worlds wars.

Their newest single, ‘To Be the Best’ plays in the background during a training montage.
