Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ Covered in Hebrew [VIDEO]
It seems everyone in the world (literally) is talking about or covering Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know.” As of today, the song has over 178 million views on Youtube, and although I haven’t searched through all the covers to determine a total, 100+ would be a safe estimate.
‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ was recently covered on ‘Glee’ to mixed reviews, but the cover we’re here to discuss today is ‘Roi Lavi and the Good Guys’ Hebrew version of the viral hit.
So you ask, what makes this cover different than all the other covers?
1. It’s in Hebrew
2. It’s not a cover of the original Gotye version. It’s a cover of a cover. Roi Lavi and The Good Guys chose to cover Walk Off the Earth’s version where six people share one instrument.
3. There’s a guy with an extremely high-pitched voice wearing a kippa
4. There’s a guy that looks like the Middle Eastern version of Jack Sparrow
Enjoy the Hebrew version below. And if you’re not sick of the original (or if you haven’t been online in a little while and have no idea what everyone is talking about), watch Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ underneath the Hebrew version.
