Jonah Hill Joins DiCaprio in Scorsese’s New Drama
Many critics speculated that Jonah Hill’s Oscar nomination for ‘Moneyball’ would not secure him roles in future dramatic films. It seems those critics were very wrong. It was announced recently that Hill has joined James Franco in ‘True Story’, and on Friday, Deadline reported that the ‘21 Jump Street’ funnyman will co-star with Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s new film, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street.’
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is the memoir of Jordon Belfort, a hard partying stockbroker that was indicted in 1998 for security fraud and money laundering. DiCaprio will portray Belfort, while Hill will play Belfort’s close friend that also gets sucked into the dirty side of stocks.
On the cover of Belfort’s book, it reads ‘Stock Market Multimillionaire at 26, Federal Convict at 36, I Partied like a Rock Star, Lived like a King, and Barely Survived My Rise and Fall as an American Entrepreneurial Icon.”
For those of you that adore the funny Jonah, he hasn’t abandoned his roots quite yet. He’s set to star in Seth Rogen’s directorial debut ‘The Apocalypse’ and can be seen in this summer’s ‘The Watch’ (formerly The Neighborhood Watch) with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn.
