Charlie Sheen Accepts 'American Idol' Judging Offer
After being named a dream recruit by ‘American Idol’ executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, Charlie Sheen told TMZ that he is “100 per cent on board to judge the next season of American Idol.”
While TMZ was speaking to Lythgoe, he expressed interest in hiring Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis to judge the next season, following speculation that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler might not return.
Sheen has responded to the request (whether in jest or not), saying he would be board, but only if specific conditions were met.
The first condition is that FX, the network ‘Anger Management’ airs on, agrees to the deal. The second condition states that the money has to be right.
“If the numbers move the needle AND Idol matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club... then the hell with it. As we say, pour the smoke," Sheen says.
Neither Sheen or Lewis have any musical or judging experience, but apparently ‘American Idol’ is at a point that ratings matter more than credibility. Other (actual musicians) being considering to fill the empty judging seats are Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and Miley Cyrus.
