Johansson Returns to Music, Collaborates with Gainsbourg
Actress Scarlett Johansson surprised audiences with her critically acclaimed album ‘Break Up’ in 2009, inspired by Serge Gainsbourg’s duets with Brigitte Bardot.
Three years later, Johansson has returned to singing (and the works of Gainsbourg) on a cover of ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ to be included on Lulu Gainsbourg’s latest tribute album, ‘From Gainsbourg to Lulu’.
Many celebrities are classic rock stars appear on the album, including Rufus Wainwright, Iggy Pop, Johnny Depp, and Vanessa Paradis.
‘From Gainsbourg to Lulu’ features a collection of Serge’s songs handpicked by Lulu that were believed to “best pay homage to his father’s work.”
Johansson has recorded several notable songs since 2009, mostly featured on film soundtracks, including Jeff Buckley’s ‘Last Goodbye’ in ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ and ‘One Whole Hour’ for the documentary ‘Wretches & Jabberers’.
