Fran Drescher: Breastfeeding Poisons Babies
The founder of the ‘Cancer Schmancer Movement’ discusses the harmful effects of breastfeeding.
In a move that will probably create nationwide debate for months to come, Fran Drescher warned of the negative effects of breastfeeding during an interview on ‘The Tommy Show’.
Drescher, a uterine cancer survivor and founder of the ‘Cancer Schmancer Movement’, believes the high levels of flame retardant in the breast milk of American women can lead to cancers in adults and learning disabilities in children.
According to Drescher, “American women have the highest amount of flame retardant in their breast milk.”
Flame retardant is commonly found in carpets, curtains, and upholstered fabrics. Drescher believes the body is absorbing the retardant, and those chemicals are causing cancers in adults and developmental and learning disabilities in children.
“This is something that is not really talked about and yet we’re all wondering why all these kids suddenly have all these learning disabilities and attention deficit and autism and there has not been a connection made… We’re kinda selling these women that breast milk is the second coming (but) do any of these women check for high levels of heavy metals or chemicals? I don’t think so,” Drescher continued.
Drescher points out that a three-day urine test is available to determine whether or not a nursing mother is passing harmful metals onto her children.
What do you think of Drescher’s comments on breastfeeding? Is formula a safer solution for children? Will our babies be exposed to these chemicals in other forms if not through breast milk anyway? Do the proven advantages of breastfeeding outweigh this potential (although unproven) risk?
