Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a busy bee. In addition to promoting Sci-Fi thriller 'Looper', out tomorrow, he has hosted SNL’s second episode of its new season, just completed filming his directorial debut, 'Don Jon's Addiction', and has now taken the time to defend the ending to his last blockbuster, 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

Audiences were a bit confused to see Robin (Gordon-Levitt), Batman’s sidekick, standing in Batman’s cave, eluding that perhaps Christopher Nolan’s trilogy might see about sequel, or perhaps a spin-off.

Well...are we on the right path..?

Actually, no. Gordon-Levitt explains his take on the trilogy’s ending in an exclusive with CelebBuzz.

“I don’t really take the ending of the movie that way. I think it’s just a really brilliant conclusion to that trilogy. To have a man other than Batman in the Bat Cave speaks to themes that run through the whole trilogy, having to do with heroism and the fact that Batman is a symbol and more that just a man.”

Gordon-Levitt gets a little more specific with his take on Nolan’s choices for the characters in his blockbuster trilogy.

“None of the characters in Nolan’s Batman trilogy are exactly like the comic book characters. It’s also its own kind of version of Catwoman and it’s also its own kind of version of Bane. I think this is a very Nolan-esque version of Robin. He’s not in tights, but he’s very much helping Bruce wayne and Batman the whole time.”

Gordon-Levitt’s thoughts are interesting to hear, showing that he is not only an insightful actor, but also a fan and astute supporter for the cinema arts.

We look forward to see what he brings to the table in 'Looper', out this Friday.
