Jason Segel and go-to scribe Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Sherlock Holmes 3) have inked a deal with Fox to make the 2011 documentary, The Other F Word, into a comedy. Written and directed by Andrea Blaugrand Nevins, The Other F Word follows aging punk musicians the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, and Rise Against’s Tim McIlrath, as they discuss the transition from the punk world into fatherhood.

The seven-figure deal will see Segel starring and executive producing the picture, in addition to co-writing with Pearce, who also has an executive producer credit.

Most recently, the 32-year-old wrote, executive produced, and starred in The Five-Year Engagement with Emily Blunt. Segel can next be seen in Judd Apatow’s latest foray into directing, This is 40, alongside Paul Rudd amongst others. Said film is slated for release on December 21, 2012.

Take a gander below at the trailer for The Other F Word, to get a taste of what Segel and Pearce will be working with.
