Israel Chosen to Launch Yet Another Music Tour
Depeche Mode will begin 2013 World Tour in Tel Aviv
It was during the British pop group’s 2009 concert held at Ramat Gan Stadium, when singer Dave Gahan promised they would return to the Jewish State, and that’s precisely what they are doing by launching their 2013, 34-show European tour at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park Stadium on May 7th.
“In 2009 we promised to 50,000 fans in Israel that we’d return soon, and we’re excited to announce that our upcoming world tour will debut at Park Hayarkon in Tel Aviv,” read a statement from the group.
“I’m thrilled about the new album and I’m very excited to get back on tour,” said Gahan.
“Israel continues to strengthen its position as an important player on the international touring map,” said the promoter of the upcoming concert, Shuki Weiss. “The number of tour debuts in Israel is growing and the once-hidden power of the music-loving Israeli audience is now a known entity in the world artistic community. Depeche Mode is continuing that trend with its decision to open up their world tour in Israel. “
Israel has had more than its share of first-rate performers this year, including Madonna, Morrissey, Chris Cornell, Cirque de Soleil and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Commencing in February, the tour will make 31 stops across the continent.
