Stevie Wonder to provide IDF Soldiers with Support Through Song
Iconic singer follows in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand
While he may not have “just called” the Israeli Defense Forces to say “I love you”, music icon Stevie Wonder will be lending his support at the upcoming gala of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) organization.
The annual event, which will be held on December 6th at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, usually bring out about 1,000 guests and generally raises millions of dollars.
Hosted by Cheryl and Haim Saban, the gala attracts some of the music industry’s top names including Barbra Streisand last year and tenor Andrea Bocelli the year before.
"The annual FIDF Western Region Gala has become a tradition and a must-attend event for the Los Angeles Jewish community,” explains Haim. “The event connects the warm community to the IDF's soldiers, and this is our opportunity to thank the soldiers who defend the State."
FIDF is a non-profit organization operating in the United States for more than three decades. It was founded by a group of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to the US to assist the men and women serving in the IDF as well as the families of fallen soldiers.
