'The X Factor's' Carly Rose Sonenclar Would Make Adele Proud With ‘Rolling in the Deep’ [VIDEO]
The 13-year-old continues to amaze with last night’s Top 8 performance
How many teenagers do you know that are not only confident enough to take on Adele, but also succeed? We can only think of one… and that’s ‘The X Factor’s’ Carly Rose Sonenclar.
Wednesday night’s theme was “No. 1 Songs”, with most remaining contestants taking on classics, Sonenclar decided to perform her own jazzy rendition of Adele’s hit ‘Rolling in the Deep’.
Sonenclar’s mentor, Britney Spears, explained that she selected ‘Rolling in the Deep’ so that her protégé was forced to “raise the bar” even higher, adding “Let everyone else sing the oldies,”
Sonenclar fashioned a casual fedora, skirt, and jean jacket, on a stage decorated with candles, red ambient light, and backup singers.
After she completed her slowed-down, soulful version of Adele’s tune, all four judges were in awe… as always.
L.A Reid called Sonenclar “insanely talented” and “really lovable”. Demi Lovato expressed her pride in the young singer, saying “I’m not even your mentor and I’m proud of you.”
Simon Cowell revisited last week’s “alien” joke, again explaining that he didn’t believe Sonenclar was human.
It is safe to say that Sonenclar will move forward to the next round, especially considering she was topping the leader board after last’s week’s acapella “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” performance.
