Howard Stern Set To Return to ‘America’s Got Talent’
The 'King of All Media' will be judging a second season of the hit talent show
Blessedly, we can all breathe a sign of relief – Howard Stern is set to return for a second season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. The self-professed “King of All Media” informed his legions on Monday, that he would in fact take one of the three judges chairs.
“I'm very, very excited, honestly, about going back to America's Got Talent. I'm very excited to be working again with [executive producer] Simon Cowell and NBC and all the various folks who work there," Stern said.
"Howard Stern's towering presence and opinions on last season's show as a new judge made a dramatic impact and added a sharper edge to the fascinating developments on stage. We know that Howard believes in 'America’s Got Talent' -- which remains America's top-rated summer series -- and that dedication comes across in a genuine way to our viewers who share his passion about our amazing talent competition," said Paul Telegdy, NBC president of alternative and late-night programming, in a statement.
Stern is the only judge to confirm his return. Howie Mandel is ostensibly undecided, and what for her quarrel with NBC, Sharon Osbourne won’t be coming back for another season.
The outspoken radio host had no clue who would keep Osbourne’s chair warm.
"If I don't like the new judge, I'll hit the X (buzzer) on the judge while they're talking. I'll be like, 'Shut up, no one wants to hear from you.’ Believe me, if I was the only judge, I think the show would be terrific."
America’s Got Talent returns to the small screen in summer 2013.
