What’s with Jews wanting to be rap stars these days, that is, with the exception of Toronto’s own Drake?

Just a couple of weeks ago actor Jeremy Piven demonstrated his rap skills on television and explained how rap helped him learn his bar mitzvah.

Now comes word that mega celebrity, comedian Jerry Seinfeld, whose only previous “wrap” experience is probably during Chanukah, is currently working on a rap album alongside hip hopper Wale.

You heard that correctly.

As fate would have it, Wale is a big fan of the star of one of the most popular sitcoms of all time with the self-titled “Seinfeld”, and even went so far as to release an album inspired by the funny man back in 2008 titled “The Mixtape About Nothing”.

“Seinfeld” originally aired on NBC from July 5, 1989, to May 14, 1998. It lasted nine seasons, and is now in syndication

“Wale called me, he came to my show, we hung out a little bit,” Seinfeld said in a video posted on Youtube. “He wanted me to do something with him. I didn’t understand it, but he did.”

It was at that point when Jerry, doing his best Jerry, concluded, “"Hip-hop's words, right? So, I do words. Why don't you take my words and do something with it?" he asked Wale. "I don't know how to do it, but I thought: just take the words."

Another possible explanation for this unexpected twosome may have something to do with Jerry’s wife, Jessica, who just so happens is a big fan of Wale.

“We’re living together, she’s into him, he’s into me, and I didn’t know about the whole thing,” said Seinfeld

Recently, the dynamic duo has spent considerable time in a recording studio in Philadelphia, but as of now, there’s no word on when their project will be released, yadee, yadee, yadee.
