Hollywood power couple, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, met on the set of Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Black Swan’. Thus far, ballet has led to Portman winning an Oscar, meeting her husband, and having her first son, Aleph. Now, ballet will be moving her across the ocean to start a new life in Paris.

Millipied moved from France to New York 20 years ago to join the New York City Ballet. He quickly rose to principle dancer in the company, but Paris is calling him back. It was announced on Thursday that he is set to replace Brigitte Lefevre as dance director at the Paris Opera.

Millipied, only 35-years old, is quickly becoming one of the world’s most notable choreographers and dancers, but he wouldn’t have accepted the prestigious position without his families blessing.

"It is not very complicated, we are coming to live in Paris…I'm not going to come without my family: No, no, it won't be like that, it is a family choice,” Millipied began.

"It is a great opportunity to be able to live in Paris after 20 years in New York. We are really looking forward to the experience and the plan is to find somewhere to live rapidly because I'm going to be spending a lot of time here."

Portman plans to continue acting, but might seek roles in Europe instead of Hollywood.

"The fact that she will be in France won't stop her doing projects outside of France, that's the nature of her career," he said.

"But there are great film-makers in Europe and why not imagine a phase of both our careers where we concentrate on European projects."

Portman recently expressed interested in settling down with her family in France, as the country has strict privacy laws that protect celebrities. The Israeli actress made her big-screen debut at 12 years old in Luc Besson’s ‘Leon’, a role that required the young actress to spend a lot of time in Paris.

The Paris Opera has over 150 dancers, and is considered one of the world’s grandest dance ensembles.
