Sam Raimi’s prequel to the classic L Frank Baum story is hitting theatres on Friday, but according to one of the film’s stars, Mila Kunis, ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ already has a sequel in the works.
While speaking with E!, Kunis shared that “we’re all signed on for sequels,” referring to the rest of her cast mates including James Franco, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz. Perhaps Kunis knows something that the others don’t? The other A-listers don’t seem as convinced.
"I hope so," Weisz remarked when asked about the potential of a sequel.
"If there is one, I'd love to be in it," she continued.
‘Oz’s’ third witch, Williams, didn’t confirm that a sequel was in existence, but joked that she would “do anything Sam asks me to do. I'd get stuck in quicksand with him."
"Wherever Sam goes, I'll go," she said.
As for Raimi, he isn’t even so sure that Disney is considering a sequel.
"I'm not signed up for a sequel and I have no plans right now to make a sequel," said Raimi.
"I don't know where Disney is with that. They are probably waiting to see what the critical response is and what the audience response is and how well it does at the box office."
So, is Kunis just joking around, or are the others simply being secretive and coy?
