James Franco’s grandmother, Mitzie Verne, has become quite the celebrity over the past few years. Although a celebrity in her own right (she is the founder of Cleveland’s famous art gallery, The Verne Collection), her grandson has included her in much of his Hollywood fare; a Funny or Die Christmas video, a one-liner during his Oscar hosting stint, and a small role in Sam Raimi’s ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’. Now, she is encouraging people to see Franco in Harmony Korine’s controversial film, ‘Spring Breakers’, via a new trailer on the film’s official Facebook page.

In the video, Verne and Franco are shown talking about the film, juxtaposed with footage from ‘Spring Breakers’.

“Lots of parties, lots of drinking, lots of girls, and my grandson,” Verne says, while encouraging people to “See ‘Spring Breakers’”.

Will Franco’s bubbie’s endorsement push you into the theatre?
