Aaron Paul, who is currently starring in the final episodes of the most talked about show since Seinfeld, AMC's Breaking Bad, has been cast as Joshua in the upcoming film Exodus, based on the story from the Torah, reports Variety.

Paul joins an all-star cast that includes Christian Bale, star of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, who will be starring as Moses. Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro will play the parents of Ramses, while Joel Edgerton will play Ramses himself.

Naturally, Ben Kinglsey is reportedly playing a "Hebrew Scholar."

The film is to be directed by Ridley Scott, director of such films as Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and the recent Prometheus. Readers may also remember him as the director of Kingdom of Heaven, which was set during the Crusades. The film will be scripted by Steve Zaillian, the script writer for previous Scott films, as well as the recent American adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Exodus is not the first time Hollywood has brought the story of the Jews departure from Egypt to theatres. 1956’s famous The Ten Commandments, which starred Charlton Heston also told the story, and is still regularly seen on television around Passover.

It is also not the only tale from the Torah being adapted to the big screen at the moment. Darren Aronofsky, director of Black Swan and Requiem For A Dream is currently at work on Noah which will star Russel Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, and Anthony Hopkins.
