Everyone’s favorite 90’s TV scientist will be returning to the small screen this September. This time around, however, he won’t be teaching the children (and adults) about neurons, gravity, and plasma… he has partnered up with Tyne Stecklein to shimmy and shake on Season 17 of ‘Dancing With the Stars’.

Nye will put on his dancing shoes to join Leah Remini, ‘Showgirls’ star Elizabeth Berkley, Valerie Harper, ‘Jersey Shore’s’ Snooki, and many others for the highly-anticipated celebrity dancing competition.

‘The Science Guy’ is best known for his PBS Kids show of the same name that lasted 100 episodes between 1993-1998, earning 19 Emmy’s. Following the successful 5-year run, Nye appeared as a technical expert on ‘Battlebots’, guest starred on ‘Numb3rs’ and The Weather Channel, and was awarded with an honorary doctorate by Johns Hopkins University.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ premieres on Monday, September 16th at 8 pm ET on ABC.
