Adam Sandler, best known for frat boy comedies including ‘Grown Ups’, ‘Billy Madison’, and ‘Happy Gilmore’ is soon going to remind us all that he’s got incredible dramatic acting talent, as previously witnessed in ‘Punch Drunk Love’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sandler is in negotiations to star in Tom McCarthy’s new indie drama entitled ‘The Cobbler’. McCarthy, best known for helming ‘The Station Agent’ and ‘The Visitor’, was in pre-production on ‘Spotlight’, a “drama about Boston Globe reporters uncovering abuse in the Catholic Church”, but it was pushed back until next year. So, McCarthy decided to take on ‘The Cobbler’ in order to fill the gap until his next project begins.

‘The Cobbler’ is reportedly about, well, a cobbler, that has the supernatural ability to explore the lives of his clients, literally stepping in their shoes. It is presumed Sandler would play the lead character.

Sandler is also scheduled to star in Jason Reitman’s upcoming project ‘Men, Women & Children,’ which would begin filming after he was finished with ‘The Cobbler’.
