Game of Thrones: The Video Game Coming Soon
Telltale Games will release episodic ‘Game of Thrones’ series to be released in 2014
Telltale Games, the game development company behind popular TV/Movie-turned-game creations including ‘Walking Dead’ and ‘Jurassic Park’ has announced their intention to release a ‘Game of Thrones’ video game.
On Saturday, Telltale Games tweeted “It’s TRUE! We’re working with @HBO to create an all-new episodic game series based on GAME OF THRONES in 2014! #VGX”.
Similarly to the ‘Walking Dead’ game, which sees a second season release on December 17th, ‘Game of Thrones’ will be episodic. The ‘Walking Dead’ game takes place in the same fictional world as the popular TV show, but since the developers don’t want the players to make choices based upon the existing storyline of the series, new characters and scenarios are introduced. The game is both story and character development-based, with outcomes affecting by the dialogue choices and actions of the players. It is assumed that the ‘Game of Thrones’ game will take on a similar format, only in Westeros.
A release date has not been announced for the ‘Game of Thrones’ game. Season 4 of the TV show premieres on HBO on March 31, 2014.
