After two solid days of silence, it looks like John Travolta is finally acknowledging his slip up at the Academy Awards this past Sunday. While introducing Broadway singer Idina Menzel before her performance of Frozen’s “Let It Go”, Travolta made the error of introducing her as “Adele Dazeem”.
Apparently Travolta had been feeling pretty beat up about the entire incident over the last few days and he finally took to releasing a written statement through his publicist. Considering the nature of his mistake, it’s probably best that he decided to not verbally address the matter.
“I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought… what would Idina Menzel say, She’d say, “Let it go, let it go!” Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday Night,” The 60 year-old actor wrote.
Travolta’s little slip up actually became an internet sensation just as soon as it happened. There are even multiple “John Travolta name generators” in which you can get your very own Travolta flubbed name.
Kristen Bell, Menzel’s ‘Frozen’ co-star, even joined in for the laughs.
“So proud of my friends@alittlejelee@lopezbobby@Lyrikris10 Chris buck, Peter Del Vecho&@idinamenzel (Adele Nazeem)for their wins tonight,” she tweeted.
