Pharrell Showcases Israel's Version of 'Happy' at United Nations Event

At the recent International Day of Happiness, Pharrell Williams chose to present 'Happy Tel Aviv-Yafo' depicting fun-loving Israelis dancing and living it up in Tel Aviv

Yet another reason to love Pharrell Williams’ Despicable Me hit, Happy.

At the recent International Day of Happiness in the United Nations on March 20, Pharrell himself chose Happy Tel Aviv-Yafo, the Israeli version of his much-loved song, as one of 80 adaptations streamed worldwide.

Filmed by our friends at the non-profit educational group ISRAEL21c, the 3 minute-video pays homage to the happiness of life in Tel Aviv, showcasing those young and old living life to the fullest on Rothschild Boulevard, Dizengoff Street, and other various locales you've surely visited in Tel Aviv.

The films creator, Nicky Blackburn, used the film as an opportunity to dispel widespread assumptions about Israel, and “show the world what an incredibly joyful and happy place Tel Aviv actually is.”

With the adaptation now surpassing 220,000 views on YouTube, the world is together in celebrating Israeli culture. Spread some happy and check out the video below:
