The Giffoni Film Festival is a unique event hosted in Italy seeking to bring kids, teens, and young adult together to celebrate international cinema.
While the European Union recently green lit expansion plans for the Giffoni Multimedia Valley, which involves a Sundance Institute-esque project for kids and a proper production studio, this year’s events will move forward as always… with some exciting Hollywood guests.
‘Glee’ star Lea Michele, ‘White Collar’s’ Matt Bomer, Dylan O’Brien, Richard Gere, and Alan Rickman are all set to visit and interact with over 3,500 jurors between the ages of 3 and 25. The young jurors are brought in from 52 nations and ask to watch, talk about, and judge more than 100 films from 82 countries.
The theme of this year’s Giffoni Experience, chosen via social media, is “BE Different.
“Difference is the distinguishing trait of beauty; it’s the substance of our being, and the driver of our evolution,” says Artistic Director, Claudio Gubitosi.
Michele will help kick off the event at the Cittadella del Cinema on July 20th. The Giffoni Experience runs from July 18th to 27th.
