The Ten Best Seinfeld Memes

It’s difficult to watch any sitcom nowadays without getting nostalgic about the show Seinfeld (if so, check out our Top Ten Seinfeld Episodes). A show, in its own words, about nothing, it was the one program everyone could watch and relate to. From relationships to masturbation, families to festivus, Seinfeld covered it all during its nine season run.

In addition to bringing together some of the best and brightest talent of the day including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards, and Jerry Seinfeld himself, it also set the standard for television that audience have come to expect. Seinfeld also, perhaps unknowingly (although we doubt it wasn’t intentional), brought light to feminism and feminist issues. Dreyfus was one of the few strong, self-assured, witty women being broadcasted on North American television screens. Openly discussing female masturbation, birth control, sex, and the struggles women face in relationships all under a comedic guise helped make the show the powerhouse it was and, frankly, still is.

Despite Seinfeld’s series finale in 1998, the cast continues to make headlines even today. Especially the show’s namesake, Jerry Seinfeld.

In 2012, Seinfeld launched the wildly popular, and hilarious, hit show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee on Sony’s Crackle. It was just announced this week that a compact, shorter version of the show, entitled Single Shots, has also been released on Crackle. The show features will be roughly two minutes an episode and be a compilation of a variety of comedians talking about one subject.

He will also be appearing in Judd Apatow’s latest book, Sick In The Head, which will feature 25 different interviews with comedians, of which Seinfeld is one. In addition to literary and television success, Seinfeld has also landed his first modeling gig. Despite the comedian being 60, he’s one of the new faces for Rag & Bones, not to mention his style has been praised by the “Normcore” fashion trend. And here we all were thinking dad-jeans and white runners were out.

In addition to being a 2014 style icon (who’d have guessed?), Seinfeld and his show have forever changed the English language. Expressions, idioms, emojis, and even holidays have forever been influenced by the language of Seinfeld. Rating a man on whether he’s “sponge worthy,” or not being able to talk about “shrinkage” without picturing Costanza and a swimming pool, to even talking about the merits of “festivus” like it’s a real celebration are all thanks to Seinfeld.

In honour of the impact Seinfeld has had on pop culture, television, language, and the world, we at Shalom Life are bringing you some of the best Seinfeld memes out on the internet.

So sit back and get ready to laugh at the ten best Seinfeld memes:
