Seth Green is the New Voice of Leonardo on ‘Ninja Turtles’

‘The Family Guy’ actor is taking over from Jason Biggs in Season 3

Seth Green has been involved with countless projects over the last three decades, starting with Woody Allen’s ‘Radio Days’, later joining several 90’s teen films including ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ and ‘Idle Hands’, then starring in Joss Whedon’s cult hit ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ as Oz, and more recently voicing Chris Griffin on the wildly popular animated series ‘Family Guy’.

He continues to star in ‘Family Guy’, appeared on NBC’s ‘Dads’ last season, and his latest film ‘The Identical’ just opening in theatres… but that wasn’t enough for the 40-year-old actor. Green is officially the new voice of Leonardo on Nickelodeon’s ‘Ninja Turtles’, taking over from fellow child actor, Jason Biggs.

Green grew up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and explains that over the years, he has related to different characters at different stages of his life.

"Early on, I related to Raphael, the wild one, or to Mikey, because he's the childish one," says Green. "But Leo is a really complicated character, because he is tasked with being the paternal figure for these brothers. He has a different level of responsibility, and I like being able to bring that kind of gravity to it."

Green admits that in addition to his love for the comic series, he was inspired to take on the role because of his wife, Clare Grant. Apparently, she’s had a secret crush on Leonardo for years.

"Thank goodness for her hilarious romantic proclivities," he jokes.

Did we mention that he’s simultaneously working on the upcoming season of ‘Robot Chicken’ (which he co-created) and is developing a feature film that he hopes to direct?
