Looks like Gwyneth Paltrow may have a crush on the President. The actress, who divorced from her husband Chris Martin from Coldplay earlier this year, recently spoke at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, which was hosted in her own backyard in Brentwood and proclaimed to President Barack Obama, “You’re so handsome that I can’t speak properly.”

But there was more to her speech than just flirtatiousness with the president. Paltrow spoke of how important it was for Obama to get equal pay legislation through Congress and called the issue “very important to me as a working mother.”

“It would be wonderful if we were able to give this man all of the power that he needs to pass the things that he needs to pass,” she told the attendees in the crowd, which included fellow actors Julia Roberts and Bradley Whitford (Josh Lyman from The West Wing.)

Obama later responded to Paltrow’s speech, which included a reference to her two young children, by saying, “I want to assure everybody that the likelihood of an epidemic here in the United States is extraordinarily small, but there’s a humanitarian crisis that’s happening right now in West Africa where children not much older, and in some cases younger than Apple and Moses, are dying on the streets alone.”

Obama concluded by saying that the economy has improved massively since he’s been in office, but that the average American make not feel it. “Most of the gains in our economy go to the folks who are in this lovely yard,” he said. “The average person has not seen their wages or incomes go up in the last 20 years.”
