According to Chelsea Handler's Huffpost Live interview this past Thursday, SNL never called her back.
During an interview with Huffpost Live's Roy Sekoff, Handler mentioned that although she met with SNL producers and was offered a hosting gig - they never followed up.
"They said, 'Oh we have to have you host.' My agent called, he said, You're hosting SNL. They're gonna give you a date in the fall.' And then it never happened," Handler told Sekoff.
And it wasn't the only time it happened, either. When Uganda Be Kidding Me was released the producers asked her to host a second time but, once again, they didn't follow through.
"I said, 'OK, great. Well, they blew me off last time, I don't know what the issue was.' And I think the thing I heard was something like… the writers have a problem anytime we bring on a comedian, which is complete nonsense," she said, adding, "I mean, Sarah [Silverman]'s hosted, Lena Dunham hosted it."
Whether or not they were just being polite, Handler let it be known she would have preferred a definitive answer.
"I feel bad for people who can't just say, 'Listen, you're just not our cup of tea.'"
