James Franco always seems to have countless projects on the go. Whether it’s a book of poetry, art exhibit, or indie film, it feels like something new baring his name hits the market on a daily basis. So, it’s not surprising that many folks were unaware of one of his latest projects entitled ‘Zeroville’, a movie based on Steve Erickson’s book of the same name.

‘Zeroville’ may end up receiving more media attention than some of his other projects however because a whole bunch of stars just joined the cast.

According to Screen Daily, Franco’s frequent co-star and best buddy, Seth Rogen, as well as Megan Fox, Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Jacki Weaver, Craig Robinson Dave Franco, Horatio Sanz, and Joey King will appear.

So what is this film about, you may ask? Also not surprising… it’s plot is almost as strange as Franco himself.

The book’s synopsis is described by Amazon below:

“Zeroville is a unique love letter to film. It centers on the story of Vikar, a young architecture student so enthralled with the movies that his friends call him “cinéautistic.” With an intensely religious childhood behind him, and tattoos of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift on his head, he arrives in Hollywood where he’s mistaken for a member of the Charles Manson “family” and eventually scores a job as a film editor. Vikar discovers the frames of a secret film within the reels of every movie ever made, and sets about splicing them together—an undertaking that takes on frightening theological dimensions.”

Details pertaining to production or release are not available a of publication. Franco will both direct and star in the film.
