For the second year in a row, Sandler comes out on top as the most overpaid actor in Hollywood.

A number of personal emails were revealed in the recent Sony hacker leak, but one of the most controversial to be exposed was a list of complaints from employees about the studio. Among them were complaints that Sony has stayed married to Adam Sandler despite the “mundane, formulaic” quality of his movies, some of which have been outright failures, like That’s My Boy and Jack and Jill.
To add fuel to the fire, for the second year in a row, Sandler topped Forbes list of the Most Overpaid Actors in Hollywood. They estimate that for every $1 Sandler was paid, he returned an average of $3.20.
It is likely that Sony will undergo some changes due to the hacking, and a part of that may be finally parting ways with Sandler. However, that certainly doesn’t mean that the actor will be kissing his career goodbye. Far from it. Netflix recently have given Sandler a deal to produce four original films for them, and it seems like the relationship between Sandler and the streaming service makes a lot more sense than with Sony since they aren’t looking for a traditional profit from the new Sandler movies. Instead, they want to hold on to their subscribers and maybe even grab some new ones and exclusive Adam Sandler films might be the perfect way to do that.
Ranking behind Sandler in the list of Forbes most overpaid celebrities are Johnny Depp at number 2, and Ben Stiller at number 3.
