Paul Rudd's 'Ant-Man' Releases Two-Minute Trailer [WATCH]

It was announced in 2013 that Paul Rudd would be playing Ant-Man in an upcoming feature film, and now a two minute teaser trailer has been released so that fans can get a real look at Rudd as Marvel’s newest tiny super hero.

In the film, Rudd portrays Scott Lang, a small-time thief who's recruited by Michael Douglas' Dr. Henry Pym to "become the hero" and "be the Ant-Man.” Pym actually created the technology himself but is too old to wear the suit, hence why he enlists Lang.

And as it turns out, this film has been a long time in the making. Back in 2001, the movie’s original director, Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), as well as Joe Cornish first wrote a treatment for an Ant-Man movie, which means that it actually predated the successful Marvel superhero movie franchise which began with Iron Man in 2008. Wright remained enthusiastic about the film throughout the years, but unexpectedly left in 2014, which caused Marvel to have to search for a new director. Thankfully they found Bring It On filmmaker Peyton Reed to take over the project.

The film is being scheduled for a July 17 release date, but in the meantime, you can get a glimpse of Rudd playing the Ant-Man in the trailer below.
