Paul Rudd has been cast to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Jonathan Evison’s novel ‘The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving’

Rudd is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. While best known for his comedic roles in films such as ‘Knocked Up’ and ‘I Love You, Man’, almost 20 years into his career, Rudd is surprising audiences. Marvel fans were shocked when he landed the lead role in this summer’s ‘Ant-Man’ film, and now Rudd will get the chance to show off his acting chops as Ben Benjamin.

‘The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving’ tells the story of an unlikely, but touching friendship between Benjamin (Rudd) and a young adult with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

According to Variety, “the two form a unique bond and gently push each other towards re-engaging in life in an affecting, funny, and inspirational tale of broken people coming to terms with difficult lives.’

Rob Burnet is attached to direct and author the adapted script, while Donna Giglotti and James Spies will produce. The film begins production in a couple weeks in Atlanta, Georgia.
