If anyone ever tells you that food doesn’t unite, just ask U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon how wrong they are. Taking a lunch break, Ban Ki-Moon was spotted trying Shakshuka for the first time from the New York famous Shuka Truck.

“The Shuka Truck will bring PEACE to the middle EAST,” they wrote on their Facebook wall.

The Shuka Truck is a New York food truck which travels around the city serving Middle Eastern dishes. The truck was parked outside Israel’s mission to the United Nations for Yom Ha’atzmaut this past Thursday. There, Ban Ki-Moon tried the North African dish, which is extremely popular throughout Israel and other countries in the Middle East.

The Shuka Truck was started by three close friends - Josh Sharon, Gabriel Israel, and Solomon Taraboulsi - who set off to New York City over a year ago to pursue a career in real estate. The three ended up finding their niche with food trucks, and have been operating their world famous Shuka Truck since.

Although their delicious meals may not put an end to the crisis in the Middle East, maybe their Ban Ki-Moon approved Shakshuka can bring everyone one step closer to a solution.

Also, a late Happy Israeli Independence Day from the Shuka Team.
