In addition to being an actress, Bialik is also known for her thoughts on marriage, paternity, religion and other topics, which have fostered her considerable popularity (and also considerable backlash) on twitter and other platforms.
Particularly though, as a constant contributor for Kveller, and perhaps one of the most self-identified Jews in Hollywood, Bialik has discussed with her fans her love affair with Judaism, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.

Three months ago, Bialik's father died, and Bialik has been reciting the prayer of mourning (Mourner’s Kaddish) ever since. Recently, she traveled to Israel with her two sons, staying at the King David hotel in Jerusalem, and reflected on his death, and her experience in Israel, via a blog post for Kveller.
She also discusses the top four things she learned, which includes "Hebrew", "Customs", "Location", and "Loneliness."
Bialik and her sons also saw relatives, held Shabbat and visited the Western Wall.
Additionally, they visited the Bialik house in Tel Aviv, which was named after Haim Nahman Bialik, the Israeli poet laureate who is also related to the Big Bang Theory actress. According to Wikipedia, the poet is a cousin, three-times removed.
