Shalom Life is Saying Goodbye
After nearly 7 years, we are sadly ending Shalom Life's run.

Hi everyone,
After nearly 7 years, we are sadly ending Shalom Life's run.
Shalom Life was initially launched to fill a large void in the publishing
industry. We wanted to speak to the countless millennial Jews that connected to
their culture, but didn't associate with the religious or political side of
Judaism. There was (and is) a whole subset of the global population that is
proud to be Jewish, but intentionally distance themselves from the politics
that oft times shine a negative light on them.
It's true. This is an unfortunate statement, but is something we heard far too
often. How do we engage these younger Jews when they keep moving further and
further away from their religion?
Our sole focus since inception was to create awareness and pride within the
Jewish community through creating content that readers would want to share;
content that showcased the various positive aspects of Jewish culture outside
the religious and political realms. At the time, most news sources only
featured the negativity surrounding Judaism - the ongoing war in Israel,
anti-Semitism throughout the world, etc. We wanted young Jews to have a place
to embrace the positivity and become educated through unbiased perspectives.
Over the years, we are happy to say that Shalom Life empowered our Jewish
readers with funny, entertaining, inspiring, and relevant stories. Our tribe
has done some incredible things internationally in the arts, medicine,
business, tech, sports, and much more. Now a younger generation is aware of
those accomplishments.
But since our inception, other publications have sprung up with a similar
message. Those outlets are larger, receive more funding, and therefore produce
more content than we ever could. We're incredibly proud that our message was
heard and will continue on. SL never had an expiry date, but it also never had
an exit plan. It was a passion and hobby that we kept going for as long as we
could, and it did for nearly seven years, and for this, we're thankful.
Thank you to our advertisers who supported us throughout the years, our writers
and editors who worked tirelessly to create and discover wonderful content, our
social media people for spreading the word and building a great following, and
most importantly, our readers for growing 300,000 strong by the end of it all.
We’re currently in discussions to have SL continue under someone else's watch.
I'm hopeful this will happen, but even if not, it's been a wonderful time and
we're all proud to have made a contribution - however big or small- to helping
readers find their inner Jewish-ness and share it with the world.
