When Israel joined the OECD in 2010, its GDP per capita was more than $7000 below the average of other OECD member Countries. Even so that same year Israel’s high school graduation rate was 92% in comparison to the 84% average of the OECD. Contributing 7.2 % of its GDP on its educational institutions in 2009, Israel spent the sixth most compared to all other countries.
Israel, always working towards bettering its prospects offered free preschool in 2012, for the first time. This new enhancement will benefit the country’s outcome as the OECD has stated that the earlier children are introduced to learning the better they perform in school as they mature.
