Tel Aviv Acknowledged as Major Travel Destination
Ranks as one of the top cities in the world
The world is taking notice of Tel Aviv and they like what they see. Recently several news outlets highlighted the seaside city praising it for innovation, beauty and the quality of entertainment it offers.
In a contest sponsored by Citibank for the Wall Street Journal, Tel Aviv was nominated over hundreds of other countries to compete for the title of the most innovative city in the world. According to the newspaper, Tel Aviv, up against 25 other cities including New York, Singapore, Toronto, Copenhagen and others made it to the finals because of the city's "achievements in the fields of technology and research."
Tel Aviv was also named one of the world’s 10 best party cities by the Lonely Planet. Calling it the 'Miami of the Middle East' it was touted as having one of the 10 most exciting nightlife’s in the world.
Not to be outdone, the travel magazine CondeNast, labeled Tel Aviv one of the world's 10 best cities for architecture buffs in 2012. The magazine's website explained that Tel Aviv boasts 4,000 international Style buildings and has been recognized by UNESCO as a world Heritage site.
Tel Aviv also sparked the interest of an Australian vacation rental website, Airnb ranking it as one o the top 10 holiday destinations for 2012, above Sydney and Barcelona.
Finally, Yahoo! Travel also joined those praising the Mediterranean city naming its Gordon-Frishman beach one of the 10 best urban beaches across the globe.
