Proving that one is never too old to pay for their part in atrocities committed during the Holocaust, a 91-year-old convicted Nazi war criminal has been charged with another murder he allegedly committed during World War II, bring his total to three.

Siert Bruins, a Dutch native who became a German citizen, already spent time behind bars during the 1980s for the murder of two Dutch Jews during the war. The newest charge against Bruins is for the 1944 murder of a Dutch resistance fighter in the Netherlands, when Bruins was stationed there as part of a Security Police unit looking for resistance fighters and Jews.

Bruins and an accomplice are accused of driving the man to an isolated spot where they let him out to urinate but, instead, one of the men shot him four times, including two shots to the head.

"We don't know exactly who fired the shots, but to be criminally guilty that plays no role," said Dortmund prosecutor Andreas Brendel.

In 1980 Bruins was convicted in the killing of two Dutch Jews, brothers Lazer and Meyer Sleuterberg, who were found in hiding in the Netherlands just days before the area was liberated by the Allies. He served seven years for being an accessory to murder.
