Happy Hanukkah!

To quote a young Adam Sandler, 'Hanukkah is the festival of lights. Instead of one day of presents, we get eight crazy nights.'

The last two weeks have been extra special to all of us here at Shalom Life, as we've listed some of our favourite companies and gift ideas for the forthcoming Hanukkah season.

Our Essential Hanukkah Gift Guide has provided us with 8 crazy nights of topical gift ideas, and 8 crazy nights of free giveaways, poised to make this year's holiday a bit easier, a bit less stressful, and a bit lighter on your wallet.

The giveaways for our 8-day Gift Guide is now officially closed; winners will be contacted shortly.

But for those of you who didn't have the chance to enter, and hopefully win some amazing and unique gifts for Hanukkah, we have you covered with our BONUS GIVEAWAY, which will run until Monday, November 25th.

We hope you've enjoyed the Guide as much as we have; come November 27th, we can all put on our yamurkles.

It's time.

Before we get to our special bonus giveaway, courtesy of Toronto-based entrepreneur Cara Bensimon's AlefBet venture, which offers uniquely decorated wooden Hebrew letters starting at just $5 a letter, let's look over the highlights of the Essential Hanukkah Gift Guide.

(AlefBet: Maya)

Day 1: Zazzle

Zazzle is a modern, eclectic 'all-over-the-place' online store that offers everything under the Jewish sun from gift cards to t-shirts to monogrammed iPhone cases, personalized luggage tags, and even custom wrapping paper. With swarms of intriguing gift ideas that will make life easier for any online shopper, Zazzle also offers many items for the forthcoming Hanukkah season, particularly with gift ideas that concern Thanksgivukkah: the merging of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah this year.

Day 2: Shmaltz Brewing Company

For Day 2 of the Guide, Shalom Life is proud to partner with Shmaltz Brewing Company, an American craft brewing company based out of Clifton Park, New York which distributes its famous line of HE'BREW - The Chosen Beers across the United States, Canada, and even England. Shmaltz has become famous for its hilarious Jewish-themed beers that are topical, creative, and also, absolutely delicious. We all know us Jews like to drink; naturally, a 6-pack of Genesis Dry Hopped Session Ale or a 22 oz bottle of Jewbelation Reborn would be the perfect gift for a parent, sibling, spouse, or best friend.

Day 3: SugarRush

SugarRush Baked Treats & Sweets offers only the finest delectable baked goods that are made from scratch and use only organic, high-quality ingredients.

In anticipation of the Hanukkah season, SugarRush is featuring two brand new macarons that are inspired by their favourite Hanukkah treats. The first macaron is a take on classic sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) – vanilla shells filled with vanilla buttercream, loaded with raspberry jam, then topped with icing sugar.

A modern spin on a classic we all know and love.

The second is the Chocolate Gelt macaron - chocolate almond shells filled with dulce de leche and a dark chocolate ganache center. Treat someone you love to a Hanukkah Gift-box of these melt-in-your-mouth macarons! Gift-boxes come with 12 or 24 macarons, at $2.50 a piece.

Day 4: Israeli-T

This year, parents the world over can rejoice thanks to Israeli-T, an emerging, Israeli-based T-shirt company that offers thousands of unique, topical t-shirts that kids, teens, adults, and seniors can all enjoy. There are many shirts dedicated to promoting Israel, and many Jewish-themed shirts as well. Yet another way of making this year's Hanukkah season a breeze, and allowing you to look stylish while you're at it!

No longer will you have to be caught wearing an ugly sweater from Bubbie in the holiday photos that will inevitably be plastered around your living room.

This Hanukkah, it's all about the T.

Day 5: Ketubah Love

If you've ever been inside a Jewish home, you'll often find mezuzahs, hamsas, and other such Jewish-related memorabilia that can make you feel more comfortable in your home while having something aesthetically pleasing to look at, but you will also find ketubot, an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage that are also forms of Judaic art. These pieces, along with other art prints and items available courtesy of Ketubah Love, are perfect for friends and family members who have recently tied the knot, or simply to those you'd like to wish a successful, healthy, and wonderful year ahead with a gesture of good luck.
