Black & White Photos Come to Life [PICS]
The latest artistic fad involves transforming ancient photos into fully realized, colour photos, including some of Albert Einstein, and Anne Frank
By: Daniel Koren
The latest artistic trend that has taken the Internet by storm is surprisingly not contemporary at all, actually focusing on the ancient and historical photos of yesteryear.
The trend involves refurbishing black-and-white photos, re-imagining them as full-fledged colour photos, high resolution and all. From the Hindenburg Disaster, to a photo of Japanese archers in 1860, to photos of historical locales with much significance today, these tell a story of history, of patriotism, of war, of old romance: in colour.
Other touched-up pics include that of Albert Einstein in Long Island circa 1939, Anne Frank in Amsterdam, 1942, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Audbrey Hepburn, and others.
View the impressive gallery of these once rustic images that are now more than aesthetically pleasing, below:
If you're interested in showcasing these on your coffee table (makes for great pre-dinner conversation) you can get the 'Colorized Photographs' book via Amazon for less than $30.
