JetBlue Removes Jewish Doctor From Plane

Dr. Lisa Rosenberg was removed after an argument with a Palestinian passenger

A Jewish doctor, Dr. Lisa Rosenberg, claims she was thrown off a JetBlue flight leaving Palm Beach, Florida to her native New York simply because she was Jewish.

The physician told WBPF, a local news station, that she boarded the plane while on the phone with a friend, and that they were discussing the ongoing conflict in Israel.

During the conversation, Rosenberg said she told her friend she was nervous because her daughter was planning on studying in Israel come September, as she took her seat on the plane.

She also said she merely complimented Israel on how they are handling the crisis.

Then, according to her story, a woman who apparently overheard her conversation came up to her and said she was Palestinian, and proceeded to call her a "Zionist pig."

This spawned an argument between the two, with a JetBlue flight attendant eventually coming to intervene. Eventually, a supervisor appeared and instructed Rosenberg, and not the woman who began the altercation, to get off of the plane, according to Rosenberg.

“I can’t believe it. I said, ‘Why would you do that?’ I said, ‘Why don’t you have her leave the plane?’” Rosenberg said.

The physician believes that she was only removed because of her religion, and that this was a flagrant account of anti-Semitism.

She has since categorized it as a hate crime and has filed a complaint with the Anti-Defamation League, who are looking into it.

A spokesperson for JetBlue has since commented on the incident. "We respect the privacy of our customers, and won’t share details for public discourse. We will say that the story presented [by Rosenberg and in the media] in no way reflects the reports from our crew, whose decision to remove the customer we support."
