Brooklyn Baby Named After Eyal, Gilad & Naftali

A religious Jewish couple has paid the utmost respects to the families of Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Fraenkel by naming their son after the teens, who were kidnapped and murdered in a now infamous plot devised, Israel alleges, by members of Hamas.

It also led to the death of Palestinian teenager Mohammed Abu Khdeir, and essentially, the current crisis taking place in Israel and the Gaza Strip.

The couple, Yankee and Bina Teitelbaum, reside in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, the JTA reports. They announced the baby's name at his bris on Monday.

Prior to this, there were rumors spreading on social media that a Jewish mother had named her triplets after the boys, which JTA reports have been confirmed false.

The Teitelbaum's have five other children, two of which were also named after terror victims. Shalhevet, their daughter, was named after Shalhevet Pass, a bay who was killed by a Palestinian sniper in 2001.

Their son, Ehud Daniel, was named after murdered IDF soldier Ehud Goldwasser and also an American soldier killed in Iraq, Daniel Agami.

“Those three boys are our family, even more now that we gave our own son their names,” Bina Teitelbaum said during an interview with NRG. “We called him this name because we want him to continue the unity the boys have brought to all of Israel — united in prayer, and then reunited in grief.”

We wish the Teitelbaum's a heart-filled mazel tov on the birth of their baby boy.
