Police Arrest Hezbollah Drug Dealers in Northern Israel

Israeli police, in conjunction with the Shin Bet, have arrested four Arab Israelis on suspicion of selling drugs on behalf of terrorist organization Hezbollah, and of also taking part in certain terrorist activities.

The Shin Bet learned that the suspects were acting on orders from the Hezbollah in a bit to advance terrorist activity in Israel, reports Ynet, after an extensive investigation looking at the relationship between the northern Israeli Arab drug dealers who had entered the country from Lebanon, and the Hezbollah.

The Shin Bet revealed after interrogating the four suspects that the Hezbollah had been using them to plot terrorist attacks in Israel.

The suspects in question are A-Khalim Abbas, his brother, Iz a-Din Abbas (both of whom are residents of Nahaf), and Ahmed Mazariv and Riyadh Marariv, who reside in Biet Zazir. The police found that they were working closely with George Nimer, a Hezbollah militant from the Lebanese town of Marjayoun.

The accused had reportedly smuggled drugs into Lebanon and into the hands of Nimer, who police believe was planning on using the drug dealers to transport arms and weapons into Israel as well.

The Shin Bet claims that Nimer had Lebanese border patrol troops on his payroll, which he would have reportedly utilized in his effort to smuggle drugs and arms into Israel.

In addition, one of the suspects in question was found to be in possession of illegal weapons. A dozen other Israeli Arab drug dealers were also arrested and brought in for questioning as part of the interrogation..

"The interrogations carried out by the Shin Bet and the Israeli Police expose a broad infrastructure of Israeli drug dealers who worked with Lebanese drug dealers known for their links with Hezbollah," said the Shin Bet via an official statement.
