Israeli Police Arrest Members of Hasidic Messianic Prostitution Circle

You probably weren't expecting the words "Hasidic Messianic" to be followed by the words "prostitution circle," but thus is exactly the news story being reported out of Israel right now, after Judea and Samaria District Police arrested several members of a messianic cult Sunday.

The cult, it appears, exploited and forced women to become prostitutes after feeding them drugs and alcohol. Their reasoning? To "save the Nation of Israel and bring about its salvation."

Oh, that. Of course. I almost forgot the way of saving the people of Israel was through snorting lines and turning tricks.

After their four-month-long investigation, during which they received reports that the cult was taking advantage of their female members, police were able to arrest four leading suspects of the cult.

Naturally, the news has shocked actual members of the Hasidic and messianic communities. Throughout the investigation, police found that women were brainwashed, told that they would find redemption by having sex with gentile men. The women were also constantly on drugs and alcohol when these heinous incidents took place, which was forced upon them.

Police have confirmed that the arrested cult members were paid by those non-Jews that the women were sleeping with.

The cult is also being accused of encouraging these women to become religious Jews in order to penetrate the religious community in Israel, and bring "redemption" to them, at least, in accordance with the cult's misinformed beliefs.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, the four suspects arrested include a 47-year-old Ashkelon resident, two residents from Kiryat Arba (one 40, one 60) and a Jerusalem-based 39-year-old.

According to Haaretz, a spokesperson for the Kiryat Arba-Hebron Council claimed that "the family is known [to] the social services in the local authority, but the level of cooperation between the sides is negligible, and completely rejected by the family."

The spokesperson added that the two residents from Kiryat Arba that were arrested are a married couple, who denied being involved with any crimes.

"Despite this, the social services department handed over the matter to the Israel Police. The Judea and Samaria District Police conducted an investigation into the matter and the couple was arrested this morning. Care for the couple's children is the responsibility of the social services department," the spokesperson said.
