Haaretz Publish Cartoon Depicting Netanyahu as Pilot Behind 9/11 Attacks

Many experts have agreed that tensions between the U.S. and Israel have been at an all-time high, particularly after this summer's 50-day war between the IDF and Hamas.

One U.S. official, who ironically decided to remain "anonymous," went so far as to criticize Netanyahu for the failed relationship between the U.S. and Israeli governments, calling Bibi a "chickenshit."

In the wake of what's been aptly referred to as "Chickenshitgate," Haaretz, who have not been shy in expressing their disdain Netanyahu's policies in the past, published a political cartoon that's naturally sparked much controversy online, illustrating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flying one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, at the hands of al-Qaeda terrorists.

The cartoon was drawn by the paper's Amos Biderman, and depicts Bibi flying a plane labelled "Israel" into the building where an American flag is waving.

There is no caption accompanying the photo.

Since the outset of "Chickenshitgate," Netanyahu said he was being attacked for defending Israel. It will be interesting what his response will be to Haaretz, one of the most popular Israel-based publications.

In an interview with the Times of Israel, Biderman said that the cartoon was meant to illustrate Netanyahu's leading to “a disaster in Israel-US relations on the scale of 9/11,” adding that Bibi was being arrogant in his construction of settlements in Jerusalem.

Since the cartoon's publication earlier today, it's been trending on both Twitter and Facebook, with many speculating if Biderman had gone "too far."

This cartoonist also decided to turn the tables on Biderman:

Meanwhile, the entire world is waiting on Netanyahu's response.....
