New York police are searching for attackers who have been targeting Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn, shooting them with paintball guns.
According to the authorities, the attacks began earlier this year in March, when three Jewish teens were targeted and attacked. Another incident occurred in April involving a 30-year-old Orthodox Jewish man, with the latest incident occurring June 29, when a 62-year-old Orthodox Jewish man was shot in the shoulder by a paintball gun.
Surveillance footage show the man standing outside a local supermarket at 1:45am. The cameras caught the victim flinching as the awning above him was bombarded with paintballs. About 5 minutes later the suspects attacked the man, shooting him in the shoulder and chest a few blocks away from the supermarket.
Police currently know that the assailants drive in a dark car, and that the attacks could possibly be hate crimes.
Although no arrests have been made, a $2,500 reward has been offered for any information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
