Orim Shimshon was born in Baghdad and raised as a Muslim. He currently lives in Britain, and advocates his support to Israel for being a country that promotes human rights and equality.

Shimshon frequently appears at pro-Palestinian rallies, asserting his pro-Israel and pro-Gay position. Shimshon calls his project “Zion Awakening,” which works to combat terrorism and social inequality. He contests that from his experience, Israel has demonstrated a considerable amount of support for gay rights, while the Arab world has not.

A couple of days ago, Shimshon released a video on YouTube of himself advocating his support to Israel as a gay Muslim in Trafalgar Square, London.

In the short video, Shimshon held an Israeli flag, while dressing in the traditional Islamic hijab.

Some individuals disagreed and criticized Shimshon’s stance, while others supported his initiative, and posed to take pictures with him.
