San Antonio police are investigating a number of related anti-Semitic vandalisms in which graffiti was spray-painted on more than 30 homes and vehicles in a predominantly Jewish area.

The vandalism was discovered Wednesday by members of the Rodfei Sholom Congregation in the area surrounding the synagogue after morning prayers.

“(We are) outraged that in this day and age there are people who still live in their own minds and own worlds where it seems to be okay to hate people based on their religion,” commented Howard Feinberg, a board member of the congregation.

Included in the graffiti were many hateful slurs and images, including swastikas and the letters ‘KKK,’ a abbreviation for the white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan.

Furthermore, some of the vehicles were also damaged beyond the graffiti, with one vehicle having its driver-side window smashed by a large rock.

Although police have not yet announced any arrests for the crimes, the community is rallying together, and is currently working to remove the graffiti. “We are cleaning up and moving on,” Feinberg said.
