Clippers Owner Tells Girlfriend Not to Bring African Americans to 'My Games'
TMZ caught Donald Sterling on tape making some very offensive and racist comments

Consider this the beginning of the end for Donald Sterling.
The Los Angeles Clippers owner was caught on tape, courtesy of TMZ, yesterday saying some extraordinarily offensive and outright racist comments about African-Americans.
During a nine and a half minute video, Sterling can be heard speaking to his girlfriend V. Stiviano, who is both Mexican and African American, lambasting her about uploading a picture onto her Instagram account of her and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson.
He continues to reveal that she doesn't want her to be bringing African-American friends to Clippers games, either.
"It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?" he was quoted as saying. "You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that ... and not to bring them to my games."
He also did not have any kind words for Magic.
"I think the fact that you admire [Magic] -- I've known him well, and he should be admired," Sterling said. "And I'm just saying that it's too bad you can't admire him privately." He continues. "You can do anything. But don't put him on an Instagram for the world to see so they have to call me. And don't bring him to my games. OK?"
Needless to say, the reaction on this is going to be gargantuan. It seems very unlikely that NBA commissioner Adam Silver won't put a call swiftly into action, one that hopefully insists that Sterling resign from his position.
The fact that a scandal like this is within the NBA, a league that so openly embraces men of all nationalities, races and religions, is kind of tragic. The tape, according to TMZ, also reveals Sterling as sexist and abusive, making commands of his girlfriend that would have her acknowledge his own exasperating views.
Magic Johnson has since responded to the comments in an interview with TMZ. "It's a shame that Donald Sterling feels that way about African-Americans," he said. "He has a team full of amazing African-American basketball players that are working to bring a championship to Clippers fans. The Clippers also have a strong minority fan base."
This isn't Sterling's first time caught for making racist remarks. In 2005, he privately settled a lawsuit when he was accused of discriminating his Hispanic and black tenants of a condo he owned. Four years later he reportedly paid $2.7 million when accused of another incident of discrimination.
How he'll be reprimanded this time remains to be seen, for now.
